Citizens of more than 85 countries are entitled to visa-free travel in the State of Qatar. The length of stay allowed varies and visitors are asked to check with an accredited body according to the applicable terms and conditions. Qatar introduced an electronic visa system on 23 June 2017. All other countries, with the exception of Egypt, Israel, Kosovo and Palestine that do not obtain a visa upon arrival, can apply for an online tourist visa via the eVisa system.  Visas are issued within four working days if all documents are filed and are valid for a maximum of 30 days in Qatar.  Once the work visa and work permit are authorized and copies are sent to the employee, the employee can travel to Qatar and retrieve the necessary visa and documents at the airport. In addition, a medical examination and fingerprint analysis must be carried out. The application for a residence permit begins now, converting the work visa into a residence permit for which the worker is not allowed to leave the country. The application for a residence permit is submitted by the employer and must start within 7 days of arrival.
Individuals who are not eligible for visa-free entry or ETA can apply for a tourist visa online. Visitors to Qatar who travel on an airline can apply for a tourist visa via the Qatar Visa Service. The cost of the Qatar Tourist Visa is QAR 100. Tourist visa holders can stay up to 30 days in Qatar for a single trip. Citizens of the following 84 countries do not require a visa for short-term visits to Qatar: 3) The employer does not charge interest on an amount that it lends to the worker. In addition, the employer may not withhold more than 10% of the worker`s salary for the repayment of a loan granted by the employer to the worker, unless a written agreement between the two is contrary. In all cases, the maximum amount withheld must not exceed 35% of the remuneration. It is possible to enter Qatar of the worker as part of a visit visa, who can then apply for a work visa while the work must not begin until the work visa has been obtained. It is the employer who becomes the sponsor of each employee. Thanks to a multitude of visa facilities, Qatar is now the most open country in the Middle East. Visitors from all over the world can now travel to Qatar without a visa or fill out simple online applications depending on what they entail. In November 2017, visa waiver agreements for diplomatic, private and service passports were signed with Ethiopia In Nepal in October 2018, but have not yet been ratified. On 26 September 2016, the Ministry of the Interior announced the issuance of free transit visas for passengers of any nationality who pass through Hamad International Airport. Only travellers travelling with Qatar Airways, with intermediate passengers of 5 to 96 hours are eligible.  This individual visa, which can be obtained for a QAR 100 fee, payable with Visa or Mastercard, is valid for 30 days and can be renewed for a further three months. Visitors wishing to benefit from this visa regime may be invited to provide official documents indicating their profession upon entering Qatar.
